NVR’s partnership has allowed us to convene youth from all cohorts together as one for the first time, united by their desire to better their communities and deepen their understanding of Sovereignty.

Our mission at the Center for Native American Youth – as an education and advocacy organization – is to improve the health, safety and overall well-being of Native American Youth.

At CNAY, we work alongside Native youth to address the most pressing issues facing Indian Country today, centering everything we do through a lens of culture & sovereignty. The wide range of experience and passion we see from our young people every day is a testament to the depth and breadth of the inherent power of Native youth. They are the leaders not only of tomorrow, but of TODAY.

Native youth belong at every table where decisions are being made – paving the way for an Indigenous-led future and stewarding this land for us all.

Our gatherings provides a space for CNAY Fellows to cultivate their networks, exposure to a wide range of mentors in the fields they are passionate about and time to build relationships with one another. We’re also expanding our community partnerships through the Democracy is Indigenous campaign this year, allowing us to travel and make connections in places and spaces where we haven’t before had a footprint.
